About Gengigel

What is Gengigel?

Gengigel is a unique, patented range of oral care products that utilise the natural healing properties of hyaluronic acid to treat a range of oral conditions associated with soreness and inflammation. Gengigel stops any minor bleeding, soothes soreness and alleviates pain as well as promoting rapid healing.

Gengigel Contains Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid (also known as Hyaluronan) is a naturally occurring constituent of healthy connective tissues, where its central function is to regulate the healing and repair process. Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, however our requirements increase significantly with age, when we are unwell, and when trauma or infection is present.

The Gengigel range contains naturally-derived high quality, Hyaluronan. Using Gengigel helps both healing and symptom relief (such as stopping minor bleeding and soothing pain and soreness).

Gengigel forms a protective barrier over wounds and inflamed areas.

Gengigel Forms a Protective Barrier

A special patented muco-adhesive membrane ensures that the hyaluronic acid firmly attaches to the mucous membrane and provides a protective barrier over wounds and inflamed areas.

The Role of Hyaluronic Acid in Preventing Gum Disease

While untreated plaque can lead to gum disease and in time tooth loss (periodontal disease), it is actually our response (sometimes referred to as the “host”) to dental plaque that is actually the decisive factor. Hyaluronic acid is clinically proven to significantly improve the host response to trauma and infection by:

  • Suppressing inflammatory processes activated in response to external events
  • Forming the basic matrix for cell growth
  • Stimulating the formation of blood vessels, granulation tissue and osteoblast formation

Note: For patients with gum disease Gengigel should be seen as a complimentary therapy to improve gum health, there is no substitute to mechanical plaque removal.

Patented Muco-Adhesive Membrane

  • Allows Hyaluronic acid to remain in place for extended periods of time
  • Provides saliva resistant barrier
  • Protects wound site
  • Is bacteria-static – keeping bugs at bay
